Railroad activities have whole communities steamed

Residents of the Cardigan Junction neighborhood in Shoreview finally had a chance to voice their discord with increased rail activity near their homes with senior officials of Canadian Pacific Railway (CPR) at a private meeting on Thursday, Nov. 7.  
CPR, which owns the Cardigan Junction railway intersection and switching yard in the southeastern Shoreview neighborhood, has seen a boom in business lately, according to Ed Greenberg, a spokesman for the company.

Raiders, Irish put on a show

For those who preach that high school sports are a more pure form of athletic competition, the state semifinal football game between Roseville Area High School and Rosemount High School last Thursday at the Metrodome was a perfect example for that argument. Two groups of players giving it their all for their teams and their schools put on quite a show.

RHRA to study Roseville business climate through taskforce

In an effort to better understand the local business environment in the city, the Roseville Housing and Redevelopment Authority (RHRA) has launched a Business Retention and Expansion (BR&E) program, funded by Xcel Energy.
Through the BR&E program, the RHRA hopes to accomplish a goal set in its 2012-2016 Strategic Plan to‚ retain and attract desirable housing and businesses that lead to employment, investment, and commitment to the community.
