The rural downtown is home to a post office, fire station and library. Then, in November 2017, Lake Elmo Coffee opened.

Oakdale man cited for offering beer to child

The evening of April 16 in the 5000 block of Hadley Avenue near Castle Elementary School in Oakdale, a juvenile said a man offered him beer and invited him to a “hiding place.”
