West St. Paul begins conversation on upping tobacco purchase age

On July 9, the West St. Paul City Council joined a conversation that’s taking place in cities across the state on increasing the age at which people can purchase tobacco to 21.

New senior facility in West St. Paul coming closer to reality

With resolutions for the project passed June 25, the council will take up zoning issues related to it July 9.

West St. Paul residents call for change following allegations of sexism on city council


Hannah Burlingame/Review • It was standing-room-only in a full West St. Paul City Council chambers May 14 as woman after woman stepped up to the podium to speak out in support of Samantha Green and Mayor Jenny Halverson, who speakers said they thought were treated in a sexist way by others on the council.

The May 14 West St. Paul City Council meeting was filled to the brim, with people standing in doorways straining to hear what was being said, while a table inside the council chambers was stacked two feet high with feminine hygiene products.
