Beth Behnke, current principal at Falcon Heights Elementary School, has been named as one of two St. Paul Public School District administrators who allegedly failed to report sexual abuse of a student by Walter Happel, a former janitor at Linwood Monroe Arts Plus in St. Paul.

Falcon Heights makes changes to tobacco-related ordinances

The Falcon Heights City Council approved two changes to the city’s ordinance related to tobacco sales last month.
The first change amends the language used to describe electronic smoking devices, such as e-cigarettes, and the second change makes it illegal for minors under the age of 18 to sell tobacco products and all electronic smoking devices.

Police have arrested the alleged driver of a stolen school bus that crashed into a fuel pump at a gas station on Dale Street in Roseville.

Roseville Police have arrested a 14-year-old boy after he allegedly stole a school bus and crashed it into a fuel pump at  the Shell gas station located at 2154 Dale Street.

Cities approve 2014 budgets, property tax levies

The 2014 budgets for the cities of Roseville, Falcon Heights and Lauderdale have been approved by each city’s respective city council.
The Roseville City Council approved the city’s final 2014 budget and property tax levy at the Dec. 9 city council meeting. The total budget was set at just under $50.7 million, of which about $23.1 million is for tax-supported programs and $27.6 is for non-tax supported programs -- increases of about $1.3 million and $4 million respectively.


Falcon Heights incumbents win spots back on the city council

The Falcon Heights City Council will remain intact come January.
 Incumbents Pam Harris and Keith Gosline retained their spots on the council. According to unofficial results from last week’s election, Harris received roughly 46 percent of the votes and Gosline had roughly 39 percent, defeating challenger Michael Thomas who received about 14 percent of the total votes.
