The fourth-place finish posted by the Mounds View High School boys cross country team at the state meet last weekend was the fifth-best in the history of the program. It was also the Mustangs’ best performance at state in 17 years.
Concordia Academy sophomore Barnabas Preble closed out the cross country season recently by racing in the conference and section meets. Among his accomplishments in the final two weeks of the season was a runner-up performance at conference.
If it’s the first week of November, it means the Roseville Area High School girls cross country team should be preparing for the state meet. That’s exactly what the Raiders are doing after finishing second at the section meet last week.
As a freshman, Barnabas Preble was the No. 2 runner on the Concordia Academy boys cross country team in 2015. The top Beacon from last year was a senior and Preble has stepped into the No. 1 spot this season as a sophomore.
