Tapped & Uncorked returns

Six years of suds! The annual Friends of Roseville Parks Tapped and Uncorked Brewfest has grown, since first staged in 2014, to include ciders and distilled spirits to satisfy brewfest attendees. Put Friday, Sept. 27 on your calendar. The first beers will be served at 6 p.m. and continue until 10 p.m.

There are 18 Minnesota brewers signed up to serve their finest foaming beverages, and two cideries and six wineries will feature their Minnesota-made libations. Plus, five regional distilleries will be pouring their liquors in the VIP tent. Adding to the festivities will be Power of 10 providing danceable music all evening outdoors at the Roseville OVAL skating facility.

Tickets are $35 if purchased in advance; $40 at the door. Admission to the VIP distilleries tent is an additional $15 and must be purchased with the general admission tickets (tickets are limited). To buy, go to www.PourFORParks.com, or go to the Roseville Parks and Recreation office in City Hall.

To get in for less, and provide a service to your drinking friends, be a non-drinking Designated Driver with a $10 ticket. Or volunteer to help at the event for a two-hour shift. Signing up in advance (required) for $10 gets volunteers orange official t-shirts (new design this year) and a tasting glass to be used enjoying the event when duty is done. To sign up, go in person to the Parks and Rec. desk at Roseville City Hall.

Food trucks on site this year include Roseville’s own La Tapatia, serving Mexican street food; Tru Pizza; the ever-popular Tot Boss, and Noris Cuisine featuring Venezuelan flavors. Barbecue fans can visit the Jones n Your Bones mobile kitchen. For fun, look for games such as human foosball, giant jingo and bean-bag tosses — all games are free.

Tapped & Uncorked is presented by the Friends of Roseville Parks (FOR Parks) and is supported by a host of Roseville area businesses including, so far, Hamernick’s, Skyline Electric, Old Dutch Foods, Tradition Bank, Community Resource Bank and Jorgenson Construction. More sponsors are warmly welcome — use the contact form on the website.

FOR Parks is a non-profit organization whose members raise funds for the benefit of all Roseville parks and recreation facilities. Tapped & Uncorked brings the community together in a unique location with an opportunity to sample and support local small businesses, plus it’s loads of fun. All funds go directly to the parks to provide recreational facilities and activities for families, children and adults.
