Family law clinic

Receive a free 30-minute consultation from a volunteer attorney regarding family law matters such as divorce, child custody, child support, visitation, paternity issues, spousal maintenance, and domestic abuse. This clinic is a joint program of Legal Assistance of Dakota County, the Dakota County Family Court, and the Dakota County Law Library. Call 952-891-7241 to schedule an appointment, which run from 1 to 4 p.m., July 3 at the West St. Paul Library, 199 Wentworth Ave. E.

 

Sensory-friendly Saturday

From 10:30 to 11:15 a.m., on July 6, explore books, music, movement and play in a sensory-friendly setting that welcomes children ages 3 to 8 of all abilities including those who have difficulty in large groups, are on the autism spectrum, or are sensitive to sensory overload. One registration is required per family. An adult must accompany each registered child. Siblings are welcome, and this will take place at the West St. Paul Library, 199 Wentworth Ave. E.

 

Decluttering 101 

Decluttering is hard work. Shari Hansen, a decluttering coach and master recycler, will help you understand why you should declutter, give you tips on how to get started with a project and she will explain the benefits of decluttering.  Hansen will also help you find the best place to get rid of your things, so you feel good about letting your excess go. Register by July 9 for this session on July 16 from 10 to 11 a.m., at Thompson Park Activity Center, 1200 Stassen Lane, West St. Paul. The cost is $5, and register by calling 651-403-8300.

 

Homeward Bound

Homeward Bound Theatre Company to offer “A Land of Fairy Tales” Monday, July 8th through Thursday, July 11 from 1 to 2:30 p.m. at the Kaposia Education Center, 1225 First Ave. S., in South St. Paul where kindergarten through third-graders will journey to the land of Aesop’s Fables as a child’s dreams come true. Summer Strolling at Thompson Park

Thompson Park Activity Center, 1200 Stassen Lane, in West St. Paul, is located on beautiful acreage, with numerous trails both long and short, each deserving to be walked upon.  Come and join others for a leisurely stroll, void of speed or difficulty, but done simply for enjoyment and peaceful conversation as desired. There will be no pressure to keep up, no need to break a sweat, simply come and enjoy the outdoors.  Refreshments will be available around the picnic tables following the stroll. This will take place on Fridays from 9 to 9:45 a.m. Call 651-403-8300 to register.

 

Women in the Woods.

Honeybees have a female dominated society. Join Dodge Naturalist, Pam Welisevich to learn about the myths that buzz around bee life and about bee impostors. This the season to harvest honey and this golden treat has many health benefits. Taste a sample during your visit, courtesy of the nature center honey bees. Become more comfortable and knowledgeable about the natural world by joining other women interested in getting outside. Start with a glass of wine and social time before going to the woods to fine tune your survival skills.  This program is for adult women ages 21+. Pre-registration is required. It will run from 7 to 9 p.m., at Dodge Nature Center’s Farm Education Entrance, 1701 Charlton St., West St. Paul.
