Sinfonia concerts in the parks

Minnesota Sinfonia will be bringing free, classical music to Lake Harriet Bandshell and Como Park Pavilion this summer. Both sites do have benches, but feel free to bring your own seat cushion, lawn chairs, blankets, picnics, kids, toys, and dogs. Food is also available for purchase at each location. Please check the weather before heading out, if it looks like rain, concerts may be postponed or moved to an indoor venue. The summer concert series will include pieces like “Overture to the Barber of Seville” by Gioachino Rossini, “Symphony No. 94 in G Major: Surprise” by Franz Joseph Haydn, or “Symphony No. 1 in G Major” by Joseph Bologne le Chavalier de Saint-Georges. Upcoming concert dates include: Thursday, June 27, 7 p.m., at Como Lakeside Pavilion, 1360 Lexington Parkway N.; and Friday, June 28, 7:30 p.m., at Lake Harriet Band Shell, 4135 W Lake Harriet Parkway in Minneapolis, with an alternate rain site would be the Basilica of Saint Mary, 1600 Hennepin Ave. in Minneapolis at 8 p.m. For questions, contact barbara@mnsinfonia.org or call 612-871-1701.
