Midsummer in winter

The show must go on, and that’s just what happened for South St. Paul Theatre. Students performed “Midsummer 2019” April 11-14, just as a spring blizzard descended on the Twin Cities. The production, based on “A Midsummer Night’s Dream,” brings together heroic figures from Greek mythology, mystical creatures from English folklore, young lovers from a Roman comedy and working class actors putting on a community theatre version of “Romeo and Juliet.” They all meet in the woods, where craziness ensues.
