Sensory-friendly playground times announced

The first of three sensory-friendly playground sessions is Sunday, Jan. 27, at the Eagles Nest.

New Brighton Parks and Recreation invites all children and families to the event, but additional support will be available for anyone who experiences sensory sensitivities or other challenges with a traditional playground setting. A quiet room will also be available in case any kiddos need to take some time away from the playground din.

Registration is $3.50 per child from 12 months to 12 years old. Adults are free. Online registration through the department’s calendar web page begins Jan. 19.

Two more sessions will be held on May 19 and Sept. 22.

The Eagles Nest is at the New Brighton Community Center, 400 10th St. NW. For more information go to www.newbrightonmn.gov and follow the Parks and Recreation links.
