Lauderdale

Dim bulb

Police stopped a 29-year-old driver Dec. 7 at Larpenteur Avenue and Pleasant Street because she failed to dim her headlights; she was also cited for driving with a revoked license.

 

DWI

Police stopped a 40-year-old Little Canada woman Dec. 7 at Highway 280 and Broadway Street for suspected drunk driving. She blew a .19 blood alcohol concentration and was booked at the Ramsey County Jail for third-degree DWI.

 

Smash and grab

A 25-year-old man told police Dec. 6 that someone smashed a window on his car as it was parked in the 1700 block of Pleasant Street and stole $690 worth of electronics, clothing and shoes.

 

 

Mounds View

Self-reporting

Officers headed to the 2500 block of Mounds View Boulevard the afternoon of Dec. 12 after a 19-year-old Coon Rapids man called in and said he wished to turn himself in for several warrants.

 

Suspicions confirmed

An officer checked out what was termed “suspicious activity” by police in the area of County Road H2 and Knollwood Drive just after midnight Dec. 10 and ended up arresting a 23-year-old Arden Hills man for a laundry list of violations, including fifth-degree possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, giving police a false name and multiple warrants.

 

 

St. Anthony

Dispatch from the opioid crisis

Police stopped a 25-year-old Minneapolis man Dec. 6 at St. Anthony Boulevard and Highway 88 for driving while impaired. Police took him to the hospital for evaluation because of possible drug use and got a warrant to conduct a blood test, which will determine if he’s charged with DWI.

DWI

A woman who was at the sports bar in the 3700 block of Stinson Boulevard told police Dec. 6 she’d been in a dispute with her ex-boyfriend and that he’d purposefully driven his car into hers, and then fled the scene. Police tracked down the 28-year-old man at the intersection of Stinson and New Brighton boulevards — his car had damage consistent with the crash as described by the woman. He was arrested for driving while intoxicated and blew a .09 blood alcohol concentration. He was booked at the Ramsey County Jail for fourth-degree DWI.

 

No chase

An officer attempted to stop a car for a traffic violation Dec. 4 at St. Anthony Boulevard and Highway 88 and the car immediately sped up to 60 miles per hour in a 30 mph zone, blowing through red lights in the process. Police chose not to pursue the car out of safety concerns.

 

Sated counterfeiter

An employee at the take-and-bake pizza joint in the 2900 block of Pentagon Drive reported Dec. 5 that they’d taken a counterfeit $100 bill for an order. The person with the fake bill took their change and didn’t stick around for their pizza pie. The restaurant turned over security footage of the person to police.

 

Stolen phones

A 44-year-old man told police Dec. 6 that he was missing two cellphones from his Edgemere Avenue home, and told police about someone who would have had access to the phones and his home. That someone, however, denied taking them. The case is pending further investigation.

 

Theft

An employee at the Verizon store in the 3900 block of Silver Lake Road told police Dec. 3 that someone made off with $169.99 headphones after cutting them out of their plastic packaging and running off with them. Police have a description of the thief and their car.

 

 

Police reports out of Arden Hills, Falcon Heights, Little Canada, New Brighton and Shoreview were not available this week because of short holiday deadlines.
