Benedictine Center events

A Poetry Reading with Victor Klimoski and Other Writers will be held Monday, Dec 17, starting at 7 p.m. A freewill offering will be accepted. Poets will celebrate the challenges and possibilities of revising their work down to the bone to reveal its true meaning. The evening features poet Victor Klimoski and his writing companions. He will help participants celebrate the challenges and possibilities involved in the process of revision.

Taize Prayer will be held Friday, Dec 21 starting at 7 p.m. Taize prayer is a worldwide phenomenon consisting of simple chants based on the scriptures and periods of silence, and creating an environment that helps participants encounter the mystery of God. Refreshments will be served afterwards. 

Dementia Support Group meets Tuesday, Dece 11 starting at 7 p.m. There will be a free will offering.  Caregivers can share stories, feelings, frustrations and joys in a supportive, non-judgmental setting.   The evening consists of group spiritual direction, introductions and discussion about the disease of dementia.  RSVP required to sarnold@benedictinecenter.org

On the Crest of a New Year will be held Monday, Dec 31 starting at 1 p.m. A $50 ticket includes meals. A $80 ticket for an overnight stay - it costs $95 for a single room. This mini-retreat is for anyone who wants to celebrate New Years Eve in a new way.  Participants will get involved in creativity, contemplation and journaling as they seek to heal their past, ground themselves in the present and discern where the spirit is nudging them into the future.
