Inver Hills concerts

Get in the holiday spirit by attending the 15th annual Sounds of Christmas concert featuring the Inver Hills Community Band on Sunday, Dec. 3 at 4 p.m. at St. Patrick’s Church, 3535 E. 72nd St., in Inver Grove Heights. The concert includes a  wide variety of entertaining old and new favorites with guest vocalists and a Christmas carol sing-a-long also.

The same Christmas concert will also be given on Dec. 10, 4 p.m. at the Advent United Methodist Church, 3945 Lexington Ave. S., in Eagan.

A British Christmas

Go to Britain for the holidays without having to leave the country through food, customs and pageants. Register by Tuesday, Nov. 5 for this session that will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 12 from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. The cost is $8, and it will take place at Thompson Park activity Center, 1200 Stassen Lane, West St. Paul. Winter Gear Exchange

The South St. Paul School District is hosting its third annual Winter Gear Exchange on Tuesday, Dec. 5 at South St. Paul Secondary, 700 Second St. N., from 5 to 8 p.m. Families with children enrolled in the district are invited to come out and swap their outgrown winter gear with other SSP families. Donations of winter jackets, boots, snow pants, hats, mittens, scarves, sleds, skates and more are being accepted and can be brought to Kelcie Litchfield, family support worker, in room S-22. 


Explore the Night

Winter nights are full of wonder — if you know where to look. Join Dodge Nature Center naturalists Friday, Dec. 8 from 6:30 to 8 p.m., to learn about the heroes and villains of the winter sky in an inflatable planetarium. Find out how animals survive the cold, meet a night-time predator, and try out a variety of activities as you explore this darkest time of year. Cost is $7 for adults and children, or $20 for families. It will take place at Dodge Nature Center Farm Education Entrance 3, 1701 Charlton St., West St. Paul.


Bake and craft sale

Gramercy Park Apartments, 5688 Brent Ave., invites the public to visit its bake and craft sale on Saturday, Dec. 9 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.


VISTA concerts

VISTA middle school and upper school band will hold a free concert on Monday, Dec. 4 at 7 p.m. It will take place in Visitation’s DeSales Auditorium, 2455 Visitation Drive, Mendota Heights. The middle and upper school chorale concert will be Saturday, Dec. 9 at 2 p.m., in the auditorium.
