I scream for kids’ art at LUV Ice Cream Café

Aria, 4.5, of Oakdale and her mom, Olivia, attended the Art Opening at North St. Paul’s LUV Ice Cream Café April 29. The scoop shop features different artists monthly, and this May the students involved with the Tree-of-Life Home-school Cooperative are displaying their work. This is Aria’s first art show and her piece depicts Rapunzel in bright pink and yellow. The children’s art will be on display through the rest of May.

Some favorite ice cream flavors mentioned at the Art Opening event April 29 were ‘ Sangria Me a LUV Song’ sangria sorbet, ‘Friend Zoned’ French vanilla, ‘You Make Me Blush’ strawberry and ‘’Tis Mint To Be’ mint chocolate chip.

Susanna Gorodisher who owns LUV Ice Cream with her husband Ilya, said that she enjoys providing a space in the community for local artists to display their work free of charge and free of commission if the work is sold. She added that celebrating children’s art seemed appropriate for May because it is Mother’s Day month.

“We’re always looking for ways to make connections with other families, so that’s why we are a part of the [home-school] group, and the art show just seemed like a neat opportunity to get them to create something and share it with others,” said Sarah Stai, mother of the three Hoffman boys pictured left.
