Huskies tumble in post-season opener

The post-season didn’t go well or last long for the St. Anthony Village High School football team. The Huskies dropped a 33-0 decision to DeLaSalle in the Section 4AAAA quarterfinals to bring their season to a close.

The Islanders used a dominating running attack to amass 351 rushing yards. Two different DeLaSalle backs reached the 100-yard mark.

DeLaSalle jumped out to a 12-0 lead after the first quarter on touchdown runs of 15 and 39 yards. It was more of the same in the second quarter as the Islanders tacked on 14 more points on touchdown runs of 13 and seven yards.

The only scoring in the second half came on a 39-yard DeLaSalle touchdown pass in the fourth quarter.

With the loss, St. Anthony finishes the 2016 season with a record of 2-7.
