Huskies wrap up regular season at Minneapolis Southwest

The St. Anthony Village High School football team closes out the regular season on Wednesday with a trip to Minneapolis Southwest. Both teams are winless in Twin City Maroon District play.

St. Anthony beat the Lakers in the final game of the regular season a year ago to secure its second win of the season. That is the same scenario facing the Huskies this year.

The Huskies’ lone victory this season came in week six when they downed Brooklyn Center 23-14. Southwest picked up its only win in week three by throttling Minneapolis South 41-0. South is 0-7, has scored only 27 points and has been shut out four times this season.

St. Anthony fell to 1-6 overall with a 34-0 loss to Fridley last week. The Tigers scored four first-half touchdowns to take control and added the only score in the second half on a short touchdown pass in the fourth quarter.
