Arrests

Once again, ask to see a friend’s driver’s license if the person is going to drive your car, because you can get in trouble. A 52-year-old woman was arrested and cited for allowing the illegal operation of her vehicle, because the driver, a 29-year-old man, had neither a valid Minnesota driver’s license nor proof of insurance during a stop June 5 at Snelling and Larpenteur avenues. The 29-year-old was arrested and issued citations for the above.

You’re busted, kid

A 17-year-old boy stopped at Snelling and Larpenteur avenues May 30 was arrested and cited for not having a driver’s license and for possession of tobacco by a minor. As noted in the police report, all evidence was seized.

DWI

A 52-year-old South Carolinian was stopped at Larpenteur Avenue and Holton Street May 30 and earned a trip to the Ramsey County Jail after he blew a .12 alcohol concentration reading. He was charged with fourth-degree DWI and fourth-degree alcohol concentration over .08.

Someone stole the license plates off a vehicle owned by a 30-year-old woman who lives in the 1700 block of Fry Street. She reported the theft May 31 and police advised her to buy new plates, while her old ones were indexed into the computer.

Take the money and run

It was a quiet week in Lauderdale.

Burglary

An office in a building in the 100 block of Ryan Drive was burglarized overnight into June 8. The person who discovered the break-in found strange items strewn about outside the building and a side window pried open. The person reported an iPad and tools were stolen, with no estimation of the value of the loss.

A 25-year-old woman told police June 9 that she woke up to find the door to her attached garage open in the 3300 block of Twin Lake Court. She said while it looked like someone had rifled through the cars parked in the garage, nothing was taken from them, however, someone had evidently opened the door to the house and nabbed her 32-year-old roommate’s purse, which was hanging just inside. The purse contained an unknown amount of cash, credit cards and the roomie’s ID.

Those meddling kids?

A 25-year-old man took a dip in a pool in the 200 block of County Road B2, leaving his phone on the deck on the sweltering day of June 10. When he came back to dry off, he found his phone had been tampered with and it was broken, a complete loss valued at $100. The man told police he suspected a group of four 13-year-olds as the culprits, though the kids told police they weren’t involved.
