Falcon Heights

Arrests

A 50-year-old from Blaine was pulled over May 27 at Snelling and Larpenteur avenues and was hit with a pile of charges, which landed him a spot at the Ramsey County Jail. He was charged with fourth-degree DWI for having a .12 blood-alcohol concentration, leaving the scene of an accident, failure to provide information at the scene of an accident and carrying a pistol while under the influence.

Police arrested and cited a 32-year-old woman who crashed her car into the median at Larpenteur Avenue and Coffman Street May 29 for driving an uninsured vehicle.

Fleeing police

Officers pulled over a 31-year-old man at the intersection of Snelling and Garden avenues May 27 and questioned him about having narcotics. According to the police report, the man appeared to become very nervous and fled the scene. The man approached speeds of 120 miles per hour as he fled and police broke off the chase, since the driver had been fully identified and because the chase became too dangerous at such high speeds. Police are investigating.

Gas-and-go

As gas prices rise, so do the “gas-and-goes.” An employee at the BP in the 1600 block of Snelling Avenue reported someone stole $18.91 in gas May 23; an employee at the SuperAmerica in the 1300 block of Larpenteur reported $44.24 in pumped-but-unpaid gas May 25; and someone bilked the same BP out of $20.07 worth of gas May 29. Potential petrol pilferers take note: In all three cases police were given the license plate info of the offending vehicles.

Theft

An unlocked car and open garage door was all it took for someone to steal $750 worth of stuff from a 30-year-old woman May 26 in the 1300 block of Larpenteur. The woman reported to police her purse, containing clothing, jewelry and other items, was stolen.

Trailer trouble

Secure your load — a 53-year-old man was arrested and cited May 25 at Larpenteur Avenue and Coffman Street for pulling an unregistered trailer, which was leaving a trail of debris on the road.

Check your tint — a 34-year-old man was arrested and cited for having too dark of windows and for hauling an unregistered trailer May 23 at Larpenteur Avenue and Fulham Street.

A 25-year-old man was arrested and taken to the Ramsey County Jail May 23 on charges of fifth-degree possession of a controlled substance, which police reports said was oxycodone. A 28-year-old companion, evidently with the younger man in a car parked in the 1800 block of Walnut Street, was arrested and cited for possession of a small amount of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. His citation is in the mail.

Police know what burglars use to get into your stuff — a 25-year-old man was arrested and cited for possession of burglary tools and false information to police after he was stopped at Como and 33rd avenues May 24.

Domestic assault

A 40-year-old woman was assaulted by her 44-year-old boyfriend May 29. She told police he grabbed her hair and pulled it so hard that hair was pulled out. Police observed her injuries. Having already been convicted twice of domestic assault, the man was booked at the Ramsey County Jail for felony domestic assault.

Camera cards and crime

The son of an elderly woman called police June 7 to tell them his mother had found two SD memory cards — the kind used in digital cameras — on the patio of her apartment unit.
