Falcon Heights

Arrest

Welcome to Minnesota — a 27-year-old woman was arrested and cited March 14 at Larpenteur Avenue and Fry Street for driving with a revoked license, as well as not getting a Minnesota driver’s license within 60 days, nor registering her car with the state within the same amount of time.

Hello Illinois — a 34-year-old man was arrested March 15 at Larpenteur Avenue and Arona Street on an outstanding warrant from The Land of Lincoln for crimes against the public order. He was booked at the Ramsey County Jail.

Tooth Fairy’s revenge?

Someone broke into a dental office in the 1500 block of Hamline Avenue over the weekend of March 12 and netted $250 in cash.

Lauderdale

Arrest

A 25-year-old man was arrested and cited March 20 at Larpenteur and Cleveland avenues for driving after license revocation, possession of a small amount of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and likely what triggered the traffic stop in the first place, an equipment violation.

Sketchy cars attract the police — just ask the 29-year-old stopped March 14 at Highway 280 and Como Avenue. His vehicle’s cracked windshield and “unsecured/swinging license plates” caught the attention of the cops, who issued him a ticket for the state of his ride. He was also arrested for gross misdemeanor no proof of insurance and driving without a valid license. The totality of his offenses landed him in the Ramsey County Jail.

Little Canada

Burglary

Two suspects described as teenage males broke into an apartment laundry room in the first block of Little Canada Road March 23. They stole a purse and a piggy bank, which was said to have $5 cash inside. The owner of the purse, described by police as a vulnerable adult, cancelled her bank cards following the theft. A witness reported seeing the suspects enter the apartment.

A male burglar broke into the storage unit in the garage area of an apartment complex in the first block of County Road B2 March 28, but didn’t take anything from the unit. The man, described by police as wearing blue jeans and a Carhartt jacket, then turned his attention to two parked cars. They were unlocked — from one, he stole the vehicle title and insurance cards, from the other, he took an iPhone and two pairs of Ray Ban sunglasses, among other items. The theft was caught on a security camera.

The honest drunk and his dog

The Culver’s staff did the right thing — deputies were grabbing some grub in the Culver’s drive-up lane in the 2800 block of Rice Street the evening of March 25 when restaurant employees told them about a rude and apparently drunken driver who’d just gotten some food. The man was sitting in his vehicle in the parking lot, and when the deputies approached, they could smell alcohol coming from his car. Upon further inspection, they found an unopened six pack of beer on the guy’s front passenger seat. Asked by officers if he’d been drinking, the 32-year-old from St. Paul reportedly said, “Yep.” The man’s dog, which was along for the burger run, was brought home, while the man was brought to the jail for DWI test refusal and an ignition interlock violation.

Fraud

A 61-year-old woman who lives in the first block of Canabury Court reported someone in Wisconsin had used her bank information back in January to purchase an $800 camcorder. She reported the fraud to police March 24 at the urging of her bank.

Theft

It was a big one: Thieves stole the mother lode of copper cables — 500 feet of the stuff — from a railroad storage area in the vicinity of Demont Avenue and Jackson Street March 24. The cables, valued at about $25,000, were intended to be used for railroad crossing lift arms and lights
