Arrest

It was a trip to the Ramsey County Jail for the 23-year-old male stopped March 8 at Larpenteur Avenue and Arona Street. Police arrested him for gross misdemeanor giving false information to police, no proof of insurance, having a cracked windshield, a Hennein County Warrant and a Ramsey County warrant for contempt of court. His passenger, a 20-year-old man, in a twist, was arrested and taken to jail, surely to appear in court soon, on a Ramsey County warrant for failure to appear in court.

A 24-year-old man, a passenger in a car stopped March 11 at Snelling and Crawford avenues, was arrested and booked at the Ramsey County Jail on an outstanding gross misdemeanor Ramsey County warrant for domestic assualt. The driver, a 23-year-old male, avoided the trip to jail but will get citations in the mail for driving with a revoked license and for lacking both insurance and proof of it.

Hiding in plain sight

It was a cruel way to be out about a grand — the 38-year-old woman reported someone smashed out a side windown on her vehicle March 8 in the 1600 block of Snelling Avenue, netting a $150 backpack and $200 in cash. The window alone will be about $500 to fix.

Arrest

Police caught up with a 42-year-old man in the 2400 block of Como Avenue March 9 and arrested him for fourth-degree possession of a controlled substance. The stash? According to police reports, “ranitidine/Molly/penicillin potassium.” He was booked at the jail and the drug cocktail was entered into evidence.

All three individuals went to the Ramsey County Jail March 11, originating from the Larpenteur Avenue and Pleasant Street area. One, a 31-year-old male was rolled up for first-degree possession of methamphetamine; two, a 33-year old woman, went in on a Sherburne County warrant for a third-degree drug violation; three, a 40-year-old male, was brought in on a Hennepin County warrant for contempt of court.

Little Canada

Beating a parked car

While there was no obvious damage, a 53-year-old man called police March 19 to report a neighbor had beaten his car with an extension cord in the 400 block of Eli Road. Police reports did not include an explanation for the vehicle abuse. The man said the cord-wielding neighbor lived on the block, but he wasn’t sure where.

Detox

A 50-year-old woman was transported voluntarily to Region’s Hospital to dry out for a while due to intoxication, while on March 20, a wife came home to find her 47-year-old husband drunk and passed out March 22 — she called police for help getting him to the hospital, as well.

A 21-year-old man was arrested March 17 for domestic assault, fifth-degree assault, criminal property damage and disorderly conduct. He and his 21-year-old girlriend had been drinking and he assaulted her; he also tore a door handle off a car during the incident.

Park and chill

Police investigated a suspicious car parked after hours in the lot at Lake Gervais County Park in the 2000 block of Edgerton Street March 19. Inside the car, they found a man who happened to have a warrant out for expired expiration; they also found a “green, leafy, plant-like substance” on the man, which, it turns out, was marijuana.
