Tartan BPA places in state, students head to nationals

Tartan Business Professionals of America students competed at the BPA State Conference March 12-14 along with approximately 1,000 students from around the state. Tartan continued its tradition of success with 14 of the 27 students competing earning a top-10 finish.

Seven students qualified to represent Tartan and Minnesota State BPA as they compete in May at the National BPA Leadership Conference in Anaheim, California. Earning first place honors were Phuong Ahn Vo in digital media production and Efemona Famati in interview skills.  Famati also qualified in prepared speech, as well as Mason Vang in computer network technology, Cheng Yang in computer modeling, and the computer animation team of Cheng Yang, Michael Xiong, Kong Thao, and Kenny Songjaroenkun.  

Tartan students also placing as finalists in the top 10 in their events were:  Mercedes Heng, Pa Doua Chee Moua, Jason Johnson, Kong Thao, Ashley Yang (in two events), Anh Vo, KaSiab Yang, Qoua Thao, and Npaus Baim "Isabelle" Her.
