Bowling and pizza
Children from second to sixth grades are invited to a recreational day of fun Monday, March 30, one that includes bowling, pizza, swimming and a movie.
For those interested, meet at Mattie’s Lanes, 365 Concord Exchange N, South St. Paul at 10 a.m. After bowling, the group will head to Central Square for pizza, then off to the South St. Paul indoor pool for a splash of fun and a movie. Transportion from each location to the next will be provided by the South St. Paul city van.
Participants are asked to wear socks, and bring a swimsuit and towel. Cost is $20 per person.

Jumping and pizza
West St. Paul is offering a second-to-sixth-grader recreational opportunity Tuesday, March 31.
Kids can join the pack for some jumping fun at Skyzone in Plymouth. They can test their hand at Ultimate Dodgeball, acrobatics, and jumping into the foam pit.
The group will then head over to Cinema Grill Café, in New Hope, to enjoy pizza for lunch.
After lunch there will be a newly released family-friendly movie.
All participants must sign a waiver and have socks on. Dropoff is at West St. Paul City Hall at 8 a.m. Pickup is at the same location, at 3:45 p.m.

Pancakes and fingerprints
The Inver Grove Heights Lions Club will host its annual pancake breakfast from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Sunday, March 29 in the cafeteria at Simley High School, 2990 80th St. E, Inver Grove Heights.
The breakfast includes sausage, eggs, juice, milk, coffee and all-you-can-eat pancakes.
Also at this event, the Inver Grove Police Department will be offering free child ID fingerprinting from 9 a.m. to noon.
The cost for the breakfast is $7 at the door, or $6 in advance. Children ages 5 and younger eat for free. All proceeds from this event go to community projects.

Pancake breakfast
Pancakes will be hot off the griddle at the Lions Club of South St. Paul’s pancake breakfast on Palm Sunday, March 29.
Also on the menu will be sausages, juice, coffee and milk. The breakfast will be served from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Lincoln Elementary Center, 357 Ninth Ave. N., South St. Paul.
Cost is $6 for adults, and $3 for children age 12 and younger.

The Fascinating Honeybee
The fascinating world of honeybees will be explored by award-winning beekeeper Terry McDaniel on Tuesday, April 28 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Inver Glen Library, 8098 Blaine Ave., Inver Grove Heights.
McDaniel, who lives in Inver Grove Heights, will present a self-produced video about how important honeybees are as pollinators and the problems they are currently facing.
The program is part of the Dakota County Library’s 19th year of hosting the culturally rich and artistically diverse Minnesota Mosaic Cultural Arts series.

Calling young egg hunters
An egg hunt will be held Saturday, March 28 at 9:30 a.m. for children ages 3 to kindergarten at Thompson Park Activity Center, 1200 Stassen Lane in West St. Paul.
All participants will be encouraged to search for as many eggs as they can carry. Several “special prize” eggs will be among the hidden and every hunter will receive a prize bag.
Plus, come ahead of the pack for a small seasonal craft before the hunt at 8:15 a.m.
The search will take place rain, snow or shine, so dress accordingly, and don’t forget to bring your own basket.

Flashlight egg hunt
Turning that sunshine-infused idea of an egg hunt on its back, youngsters in grades kindergarten through fifth will participate in a flashlight hunt for eggs at Thompson Park Activity Center Saturday, March 28 starting at 8 p.m.
Tote along your own flashlight and basket and search as the sun goes down.
A craft will be offered to early birds who arrive at 6:45 p.m.
