Woodbury Chorus & Orchestra raises funds for food shelf

The Woodbury Chorus and Orchestra, directed by Robert Murphy with associate directors Derick Rehurek, Steve Kennedy and Richard Alton, wil present "Te Deum We Praise Thee O God" at 4:15 p.m. March 8 at St. Mark's Lutheran Church, 2499 Helen St., North St. Paul.

The concert is free and no tickets are required.

During the program, a freewill offering will be taken to benefit the North St. Paul Area Food Shelf. This will be the 15th time the WCO has performed to benefit the local food shelf; over the years it has brought in a total of over $20,000, providing 100,300 meals.

The Woodbury Chorus and Orchestra, founded in 1985, is an all-volunteer effort, from muscians and vocalists through directors. Its sole mission is to raise funds for area food shelves, and since 1991 it has raised over $436,000, enabling food shelve to provide more than 2 million meals.

Robert Murphy began serving as the WCO's director in 2010. He has also been music director at St. Mark's Church for more than 25 years.
