Rush Line Corridor November open houses postponed

Open houses previously scheduled in November for the Rush Line Corridor Pre-Project Development Study have been postponed until early January 2015. The new dates for the open houses will be forthcoming. The open houses are being postponed to allow the study team adequate time to review and incorporate recently obtained data into the study’s purpose and need, goals and objectives, and routes under consideration.

Opportunities for the community to engage in conversations with study planners will continue through November and December. Check the Rush Line Corridor project website regularly for community engagement opportunities and new open house dates, locations, and times.

Additional Information:

Three open houses are to be scheduled in January 2015 for the Pre-Project Development Study to seek input from community members and businesses on the following:

• Purpose and needs of the transit corridor

• Goals and objectives of the transit study

• Potential route alternatives

The Rush Line Corridor is a transportation corridor extending 80 miles from Hinckley to Union Depot in downtown St. Paul. A Pre-Project Development Study is underway to analyze bus and rail transit alternatives between Forest Lake and Union Depot in St. Paul. The study builds upon previous work completed for the corridor and will identify one mode and one alignment for adoption as the corridor’s Locally Preferred Alternative.
