Maplewood resident Jeffray Leallen Walker, 25, faces rape and aggravated burglary charges following an attack in St. Paul Oct. 8.

According to a criminal complaint from the Ramsey County Attorney’s Office, Walker was with a group of men who broke into an East Side home through a basement window, stealing valuables, assaulting the family of four, and sexually assaulting a female resident of the home at gunpoint.

Walker faces a total of seven charges for an Oct. 8 incident.

Walker and the group reportedly broke into a family home on the 1300 block of Fremont Avenue in search of a large sum of cash they’d heard was on the premises.

According to the complaint:

One witness, the father of the family of four, was asleep on his couch when he awoke to see three or four black males holding guns.

They asked him where the money was, explaining they’d been tipped off that he had large amounts of cash on hand.

He was then pistol whipped several times in the face by all of the men. One suspect even poured hot wax on the victim.

The group then trashed the home, looking for money.

A short time later, the victim heard gunshots, and thought the men had killed his girlfriend, until he heard her scream.

The mother of the family told police she awoke in her bedroom to two armed men entering.

One left, while the other locked the door, pulled the woman’s top off and forced her to perform oral sex on him at gunpoint.

The other man then came back and brought the victim her one-year-old daughter.

The woman eventually ended up in the bedroom alone with her daughter. She barricaded the door and began yelling for help, which allegedly prompted the suspects to fire guns into the room.

The burglars at one point brought all the family members into the living room, including the one-year-old girl and a 13-year-old boy, whom they threw on the floor and kicked in the ribs.

They threatened to kill the entire family except for the baby girl.

The burglars left after about 30 minutes, and police arrived on the scene.

They stole two cell phones, an Xbox 360, an Xbox 1, a PlayStation 3, a Ruger 9 mm handgun, and surveillance cameras.

The mother was taken to a hospital for a sexual assault examination. The physical evidence recovered from the scene will be sent to the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension for analysis.

Police found two bullet holes in the ceiling of the bedroom.

They also reportedly found fingerprints from the basement window where the men entered the home.

The father of the family told police in an interview he recognized one of the robbers as Jeffray Walker, explaining the two had grown up together.

The witness also said the two were “in the game” selling drugs. The witness told police he’s hasn’t dealt drugs for over five years.

Walker, also a father, has two prior felony convictions including a burglary in the second degree conviction from 2008.
