Filing for municipal and school board elections underway - North St. Paul edition

The filing period for municipalities without a primary election opened July 29, as did filing for seats on local school boards.  The filing period closes at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 12. The general election will take place on Tuesday, Nov. 4.

Candidates will be able to file for the following city council and school board positions in the Review’s coverage area:

North St. Paul
• Mayor, four-year term.
• Two council seats, four-year terms.
Mayor Mike Kuehn’s term has expired. Mayor Kuehn has held the post since 2008. Seats currently held by council members Terry Furlong and Candy Petersen are scheduled to expire at the end of the year.

North St. Paul-Maplewood-Oakdale District 622 School Board
• Three board seats, four-year terms.
The North St. Paul-Maplewood-Oakdale School Board has three of its seven seats set to expire at the end of 2014. Board members Mark Wheeler, Michelle Yener and Amy Coborn currently occupy those seats.
