A ‘towering’ job

Linda E. Andersen/Review

Get a good look while you still can—it might be the last time you see this Roseville tower for awhile! The 1.5 million-gallon water tower on Fairview Avenue is getting a fresh coat of exterior and interior paint this summer. The project is expected to take about six weeks to complete, and work is already underway to prepare the tower for its facelift. Pictured here July 19, the Roseville city logo is still visible, but protective drapings will be hung over the tower as it is painted.  In order to control water pressure during the paint job while the Fairview tower is offline, the city will use an Arden Hills tower. The two cities’ systems are interconnected, so service will remain the same in both cities. After the interior tank is painted, the tank will be disinfected, refilled and tested before returning to service, the city says. The structure was last painted in 1995.
