Kinderberry Hill “sparks the spirit of giving”

Kinderberry Hill families enjoyed an evening of giving back at the first annual “Spark the Spirit of Giving” event Nov. 12.

Families were invited to participate in a variety of hands-on activities to benefit several non-profit groups and causes. Children and parents created nutritious breakfast bags for the Ronald McDonald House and Children’s Hospital, cheerful placemats for homebound seniors receiving Meals on Wheels and fleece blankets for sick or lonely children through Project Linus. Families also decorated their very own “giving box” to take home and collect money to benefit the charities of their choice.

Each activity also included talking points to help children understand the importance of helping others.

“This first-ever event truly was special for our families,” said Anne Roy, Executive Director Kinderberry Hill Roseville. “I heard several families discussing how simple acts of kindness can bring joy to others. It was heart-warming to watch the children understand and have empathy for those in need.”
