2013 Fire Safety Poster Contest winners announced

The annual Fire Safety Poster Contest for fourth and fifth graders was completed during October. Students in those grades, Wilshire Park Elementary and St. Charles Borromeo, create an original poster that includes a Fire Safety or Fire Prevention message. Posters are collected and evaluated by the St. Anthony Fire Department. The theme this year was “Prevent Kitchen Fires” and around 250 posters were done.

The top four posters creators will be honored at the Nov. 26 city council meeting. The top poster is forwarded on to a regional and state competition. The winning posters this year are: first place – Ella Bergquist, a fifth grader; second place – Ajla Cerimovic, a fifth grader; third place – Lola Vanner, a fifth grader; fourth place – Peri Orstadius a fifth grader.
