Area students inducted into Phi Beta Kappa

Two local students from the College of Saint Benedict, St. Joseph, were inducted into the Theta of Minnesota Chapter of Phi Beta Kappa on April 23 at Pellegrene Auditorium, Saint John’s University. The 75 students inducted included Mara Pieper, of Oakdale, and Michelle Pokorny, of Lake Elmo. Pieper is a senior English and Hispanic studies major at CSB. and Pokorny is a senior psychology major at CSB. A total of 63 seniors and 12 juniors were selected by faculty members at CSB and SJU who are members of Phi Beta Kappa, the nation’s oldest academic honor society.

The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, announces that these University of Minnesota students, Andrew Senger of Lake Elmo, Rachel Alden-Anderson, Elaine Verhulst and Brittany Cicchese, all of Oakdale, were recently initiated into Phi Kappa Phi, the nation’s oldest and most selective collegiate honor society for all academic disciplines.
