Hannah Burlingame/Review • Jimmy Reagan is an artist from Mendota Heights whose work is currently on display at First Presbyterian Church in South St. Paul. He was diagnosed as a toddler with complex autism, and his artwork gives him a way to show people how he sees the world.

Local painter doesn’t let differences hold him back.

Railroad Island to be an energy conservation hotspot


courtesy of Google Maps • A new solar garden, part of an energy conservation program taking place in Railroad Island, will be located at the end of Minnehaha Avenue near the Village on Rivoli housing development. Homes with low income occupants will be hooked up to the solar garden for free, with the goal of eliminating barriers to renewable energy.

The little neighborhood of Railroad Island has become a big target when it comes to energy consumption and renewable energy.

Beloved literary park receives new bench

Poetry Park, a literary sanctuary in Phalen Regional Park, is about to have a new seat for contemplation. 

The East Side Arts Council plans to install a new bench to honor one of the council’s founders, Kitty Anderson.

Temporary memorial to be made in honor of Scott Patrick


Hannah Burlingame/Review • The empty lot on the corner of Smith Avenue and Dodd Road just inside West St. Paul will be home to a temporary memorial to Mendota Heights police officer Scott Patrick, who was killed there while on duty in 2014.
