At Brausen Auto, they care about you and your vehicle

Ted Brausen took over the family auto repair business from his father, Joe, (left). Ted’s wife, Cherri, is in charge of bookkeeping and his son, Jake, is a service manager at the Arden Hills location.

After more than 46 years of providing automotive service in the north metro, the Brausen family has built a solid reputation and loyal customer base.

That’s because people know the Brausen shops in Roseville and Arden Hills will only do the repair work that is necessary and always use quality parts at a reasonable price.

Brausen Auto employees say they recognize that any vehicle coming through their doors should be treated with the level of quality and care that they would want for their own family vehicle.

“It is your family driving the vehicle. You should only accept the best,” says owner Ted Brausen, who took over the business from his father at age 17.

Now the family business is getting ready for the third generation of ownership. Plans are in the works to pass it on to his son, Jake Brausen.

Ted learned about the auto repair business from his father, Joe Brausen, and similarly, Jake has been learning about car repair and the family business at his father’s side.

Jake has more than 15 years of experience in the automotive repair industry. He is currently a manager at Brausen’s Arden Hills service station, as he gets ready to take the next step of owning the company.

Jake is also a familiar face around the community. He graduated from Totino-Grace and is coaching hockey in the north suburbs.

The family not only has a group of loyal customers, but they also have a group of loyal employees who have been by their side helping make Brausen Auto the great business it is today. Many, including several master technicians, have worked for the Brausens for over 30 years.

“We want to say thank you to them as they are the heart of Brausen family auto repair and Brausen Shell,” Ted says. “All of our employees are valued members of our family.”

The business began with a service station in Arden Hills, and then added another service station in Roseville and two repair shops in Blaine. Ted also expanded the original location, which now has a high-tech repair shop next to the original gas station it was once connected to.

Brausen Auto has always promised honest pricing, quality parts and expert repair work since the business was established in 1969. It even offers customers a free courtesy ride to work after they drop off their vehicles, and all repairs come with a 12-month or 12,000-mile warranty on parts and labor.

Additionally, Brausen Auto does its best to stay “green” by recycling all oil, antifreeze, batteries, tires, lights and any other fluids. The company also uses energy-efficient lighting and heating at all of its locations.

With their third generation of ownership approaching, the family wants to say thank you for all of the support they have received over the years from employees, friends and the community.

“We will continue putting in quality parts and offering top service, as we believe our customers, family and friends are very important,” Ted says.
